The Deadman Stretchy Band™ is a purpose-built kinetic recovery rope designed for vehicle-to-vehicle recoveries when traction is lost and momentum is needed. Unlike static tow straps or earth anchors, the Stretchy Band uses engineered nylon fibers that stretch under load, absorbing shock and delivering a controlled “rubber band” effect to help free a stuck vehicle safely and effectively.
Manufactured and tested in Texas using U.S.-sourced Cortland double-braided nylon, the Stretchy Band is a critical recovery tool for off-roaders who understand the difference between towing and kinetic recovery.
Features
- Recovery type: Designed specifically for kinetic vehicle-to-vehicle recovery
- Stretch capability: Fibers stretch up to 30% under load to absorb shock and increase recovery force
- Towing warning: Not designed for towing—do not use as a tow strap
- Sizing: Select a Stretchy Band that matches or exceeds your vehicle’s GVWR
- Group recoveries: Size up if you regularly recover heavier vehicles
- Shackles required: Requires a minimum of two shackles for proper use
- Shackle safety: Metal bow shackles are not recommended due to projectile risk during kinetic recovery
- Best practice: Soft shackles are strongly recommended for safety
