Upgrade your rear KDSS system the right way. This billet rear KDSS drop solution is built for drivers who actually use their suspension travel — replacing the weak OEM passenger-side fixed link with a CNC-machined 7075 billet aluminum link while retaining a properly positioned driver-side spacer. Stronger, safer, and built for real trail abuse.

Notes

  • KDSS lean: This kit does NOT fix or prevent KDSS lean. Lean is caused by hydraulic imbalance within the KDSS system — not sway bar geometry, links, or spacers.
  • Compatibility: KDSS-equipped vehicles only.
  • Spacer requirement: Works only with DRKDSS or Treaty Oak rear drop spacers. Unknown spacer brands are not supported.
  • Restock fee: A 20% restocking fee applies. Please confirm compatibility before ordering.

What it is

  • Upgrade: Replaces the OEM passenger-side fixed KDSS link with a longer, stronger 7075 billet aluminum link.
  • Design: Retains a spacer on the driver-side KDSS strut to maintain proper geometry.
  • Purpose: Accomplishes the same goal as traditional rear KDSS drop spacers — but in a stronger, more trail-resilient way.

Why this exists

  • Weak point: The OEM fixed link is a known failure point under hard trail use.
  • Impact risk: Hard ledge drops or rock landings can bend the factory link.
  • Misalignment: Once bent, the sway bar shifts and can stress or damage the KDSS strut shaft.
  • Solution: This billet link eliminates that failure point entirely.

What it does

  • Replaces: Weak OEM passenger-side KDSS link.
  • Maintains: Proper sway bar position at full droop.
  • Prevents: Sway bar misalignment that can damage the KDSS strut.
  • Allows: Full suspension droop when running extended-travel rear shocks.
  • Keeps: KDSS piston within OEM operating range.
  • Clears: Up to a 285/70/17 spare tire in the factory location.

Design & materials

  • Material: CNC-machined 7075 aircraft-grade billet aluminum.
  • Strength: Significantly stronger than OEM steel link.
  • Finish: Black anodized (only color available).
  • Engineering: Overbuilt for real off-road use, not just daily driving.
  • Load path: The fixed link carries the load — that’s why this component is billet.

Kit options

  • Rear KDSS drop spacers (pair): $180 – Traditional spacer solution.
  • Billet fixed link only: $200 – For customers already running two rear drop spacers.
  • Billet fixed link + driver-side spacer: $250 – Stronger, cleaner, trail-ready setup.

Install overview

  • Install position: Best installed with vehicle on its own weight (tires on ground).
  • Preparation: Soak bolts with penetrating oil if vehicle is older or exposed to road salt.
  • Torque specs: Top frame-side bolt 80 ft-lbs. Lower hardware 70 ft-lbs.
  • Loctite: Not required — locking nuts included.
  • Inspection: Add torque hash marks for quick visual inspection after trail use.

Do you need this kit?

  • Extended travel: Yes, if running extended-travel rear shocks.
  • Hard wheeling: Yes, if you’re dropping off ledges or running aggressive terrain.
  • Spare clearance: Yes, if running a 285/70/17 spare in factory location.
  • Daily driver only: Probably not — and that’s completely fine.
